NEW LISTING STATUS COMING AUGUST 20

To help listing brokers better communicate with potential selling brokers, the MLS Board of Directors approved two new listings statuses.  On August 20, the Withdrawn status no longer will be available, and the new choices will be Withdrawn/Released or Withdrawn/Temporary, as outlined below:

Withdrawn/Released

  • To be used for listings in which the listing broker and seller mutually have agreed to terminate the listing agreement prior to the expiration date.  This status conveys that a listing agreement no longer is in effect between listing broker and seller
  • On August 20, any Withdrawn listing with an expiration date in the past automatically will be changed to Withdrawn/Released, with an effective date of the "withdrawn" date previously entered.

Withdrawn/Temporary

  • To be used when the listing broker still maintains a listing agreement and for which the Seller has requested the property be withdrawn from the market prior to the expiration date.  This status conveys that the listing agreement remains in effect between listing broker and seller, until the listing naturally expires or is changed to another status.
  • At any time prior to the expiration date for a Withdrawn/Temporary listing, the listing broker will have the ability to change a Withdraw/Temporary listing to another status (i.e., Active to indicate the property is again on the market).
  • On August the 20th, any Withdrawn listing with an expiration date in the future will be changed to Withdrawn/Temporary.  To avoid violation of the MLS Rules, listing brokers should change any Withdrawn/Temporary listings to Withdrawn/Released should the listing agreement no longer be in effect.
