I wish to run for the board of directors because I believe our strength as REALTORS® comes from the relationships we build with one another and with the communities we serve. Also, my home community, Marion County, has little involvement in the Association, which I would like to see improve. My commitment is to help lead with accessibility, openness, and a focus on uniting the real estate community even further with our local communities, and to continue giving our members a crucial voice on the local level.

WINNIE PARIS, ABR, AHWD, C2EX, SRS (Keller Williams Realty)

With my strong background and experience in the US Navy, customer service, and insurance, I possess a broad range of knowledge that will be beneficial. I wish to run for the Board of Directors for the following reasons:

•  As a REALTOR® of 4 years and Chattanooga transplant, I would like to assist in making important decisions that will shape the culture and long-term goals of GCR.
•  It will enhance my leadership skills.
•  I know that I have people within my network who will benefit from GCR, and I also feel that this opportunity will help me continue to build valuable connections within the city.
•  I am a huge advocate for giving back to the community, and in this role, I will be able to assist with more of those options.
•  Be a bridge between the Board and REALTORS® who wouldn’t usually participate in events sponsored by GCR.
•  People have become familiar with seeing me doing things with GCR, and now I can be an advocate for them at a higher level. I can better help them with the knowledge that I gain.
•  I would like to be President of GCR in the future.

These are the contributions I feel that I can make to the Board:

•  Assist with the short and long-term goals of GCR that align with the mission and partnerships within the community.
•  I enjoy researching and gaining knowledge. With this opportunity, I will be able to leverage my industry knowledge to provide insights and trends that benefit those we serve.
•  I will be able to be a greater ambassador for GCR. Knowing more about the inner workings and the way decisions are made, I can further advocate for others to become more involved in local events, extend the reputation, and assist in bridging partnerships.
•  According to NAR, the typical REALTOR® is a 55-year-old white female who attended college, and their median time in business is 10 years. I am one of those things, a female. I can help change the stereotype of what a REALTOR® should look like.
•  I can be a larger advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the GCR’s culture.
•  Create events and activities that will reach a broader range of those we serve.
