At the local, state and national levels, REALTORS® advocate on behalf of consumers to protect and promote private property rights. REALTORS® meet regularly with elected officials representing the citizens of Hamilton and Sequatchie counties in southeast Tennessee and Catoosa, Dade, and Walker counties in northwest Georgia. Each spring, REALTORS® travel to the Nashville, Atlanta, and Washington D.C. to meet with state and federal officials on issues affecting private property rights.

REALTORS® make contributions to the REALTOR® Political Action Campaign (RPAC) to support political candidates whose philosophies are consistent with and supportive of the concepts of private property rights and the free enterprise system.

Annual Dues Billing: The PAC investment amount suggested on the annual dues renewal for REALTORS® is merely a guideline. REALTORS® may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. REALTORS® may refuse to contribute without reprisal, and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by the state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until the  state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, it may elect to retain the entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates. Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes.
