Director Spotlight: Rolanda Daniel

At Greater Chattanooga Realtors, we’re proud to shine a light on the leaders who give their time and energy to serve our association. Today’s Director Spotlight features Rolanda Daniel, whose professional journey began with empowering others in their careers, a passion that now carries over into their real estate work and leadership. Rolanda’s dedication to client service, Realtor education, and community involvement reflects the very best of who we are as an Association.

What did you do before transitioning into this profession? As a job coach, I led workshops on interviewing, networking, and job search strategies.  I also worked one-on-one with clients to polish their résumés, complete applications, and navigate the (then new and sometimes intimidating) world of online job searching. At this time, most people didn't have access to the internet, so our clients relied on us to help them look for jobs online.

One of my favorite parts of the job was running mock interviews. I would record the sessions, then sit down with clients to review and share practical tips for improvement. It was always rewarding to watch someone recognize their strengths, adjust a few things, and leave feeling more prepared for the real thing.

What is your favorite part of being a Realtor? What I love most about being a Realtor is the people I get to help. There’s nothing quite like seeing the look of accomplishment on a first-time homebuyer’s face when they get the keys – it’s such a special moment to share in with them. I also really enjoy working with people relocating to Chattanooga. Moving can be overwhelming, and seeing the relief and excitement once they’re settled and starting to enjoy everything our city has to offer makes it all worth it. These moments remind me why I do what I do.

Why did you choose to serve the Association in a leadership capacity? I decided to serve in a leadership role with our Association because I truly care about protecting the interests of our Realtor community and the consumers we serve every day. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions people make, and I want to make sure our industry continues to advocate for buyers and sellers. I also enjoy being part of the conversations and decisions that shape the future of our profession. Serving in this way allows me to give back to an industry that has given so much to me.

What would you like your fellow Realtors to know about the benefits our Association offers its members? What is something our Association does in the community that you want others to be aware of? If I had to pick my favorite benefit our Association offers, it would definitely be the free education, it’s worth its weight in gold! These courses give Realtors the tools and knowledge we need to stay sharp, knowledgeable, and competitive in an ever-changing market. Whether you’re a new agent learning the ropes or a seasoned professional brushing up on the latest trends, this education helps you grow your skills without adding extra cost. The best part is that it’s designed to make us better at serving our clients, which ultimately strengthens our reputation and success as a community. It’s one of those benefits that truly keeps giving.

Also, I love that our Association supports the “Snack Pack” program for Hamilton County school children. This program provides food to more than 3,000 students each week, ensuring kids have the nutrition they need to thrive. What makes it even more special is that it’s entirely volunteer-driven with every dollar going directly toward the food and supplies. I frequently volunteer putting together the bags for Snack Packs , and I’m always inspired to see so many fellow Realtors there giving their time. It’s a wonderful example of our Realtor community coming together to make a real difference for local children.

Have you read any recent books or listened to a podcast you'd recommend? I recently listened to the audiobook for The Miracle Morning for Real Estate Agents: It’s Your Time to Rise and Shine, and I have to say, it’s a good one. It’s full of practical tips and morning routines that make sense for Realtors, without being overwhelming or unrealistic. Even just reading it gave me a new perspective on starting the day with focus and energy. It’s the kind of book that makes you stop and think, “Hmm, maybe I could do this, too, someday.” I’d definitely recommend it to any Realtor looking for a little inspiration to start their mornings off right.

Whether it’s walking someone through their first home purchase, volunteering for Snack Packs, or championing Realtor education, this Director leads with purpose and heart. It’s dedicated members like this who remind us that leadership isn’t just about titles, it’s about showing up to serve others. If you’re inspired to get more involved, applications are now open for the 2026 Board of Directors. The deadline to apply is September 15, and we encourage all members who are passionate about making a difference to consider serving. #That'sWhoWeR
