DESCRIPTION

Former and Outgoing Directors are invited to apply for the position of 2026 President-Elect, who, i turn, would serve as 2027 President. Those interested in serving in this capacity should:

• Email Carol Seal of your intent to be considered as a candidate no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10;
• Submit a completed nomination form to Carol Seal no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14; and
• Plan to interview with the current and incoming Directors at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 20.

All nomination forms will be distributed to the current and incoming Directors, who will interview President-Elect candidates on Thursday, November 20, at 9:00 a.m. 

In addition to requiring the President and President-Elect not to be from the same firm, partnership, corporation, or limited liability company, the Bylaws provide the following qualifications/considerations for President-Elect:

• No individual whose term on the Board of Directors extends into the following calendar year shall be eligible for nomination or election to the office of President-Elect; however, an outgoing Director shall be eligible for election to the office of President-Elect for the following calendar year.
• No outgoing Director who is nominated and accepts such nomination for the office of President-Elect for the following year shall be entitled to vote in the election of the President-Elect for the following calendar year.
• The President-Elect shall be serving or have served previously on the Board of Directors.
• Special consideration shall be given to a nominee’s reputation in the real estate profession and the community;  experience and specialty designations for professionalism; extent and effectiveness of service as a Director, and any service as an Officer or committee chairman of the Association and effectiveness while serving in these positions; past leadership in state and national real estate association or their affiliates; leadership in the community; and willingness to serve.
